Holistic Education

Experience     Passion     Purpose

At Léman students develop the intellectual, emotional and social skills needed to succeed in an interconnected world. We provide challenging and enjoyable programs aimed at developing well rounded individuals. Our students experience numerous opportunities to pursue their interests: in academics, the fine arts, and athletics. We believe that students who discover and develop their passions will lead a life of purpose.

Proven Results

Our proprietary assessment methods measure the academic progress of students and effectiveness of our educational programs. In addition to comprehensive internal assessment, we utilize the Comprehensive Testing Program (CTP), a rigorous external assessment of student achievement for grades two to ten. The CTP identifies strengths and growth areas on both an individual and group level, comparing our students’ performance to that of private independent schools in the United States.

Committed Teachers

Our experienced and talented team of professionals is the keystone to the provision of an excellent education. Léman teachers hail from all over the world and are focused on student learning.  They engage in professional development to continuously build their teaching skills and remain current with evolving trends in education. Our approach is rooted in:

1.World-class teachers working in a collaborative environment supported by comprehensive professional development

2.Research based best practices including differentiated instruction and authentic application of learning

3.Comprehensive extra-curricular programming and international learning opportunities

Preparing for the Future

At Léman, we believe school plays a critical role in furthering students’ success beyond the school grounds. Beginning in middle school, students take part in the Meritas’ proprietary Skills for Success program, which develops the skills needed for academic excellence and social development.  Our college counseling program centers on top-choice acceptances for all students and begins in the sixth grade. The program develops young adults who are ready to be successful inside and outside the college classroom from day one.

World class facilities

The expansive landscaped campus of Léman International School – Chengdu is located in the fastest growing eco-urban area just south of the city center. Completed in 2009, our 50-acre/20-hectare campus features facilities which offer students an unparalleled environment to develop their interests, whether they are in academics, athletics, dance, fine arts or music.

Community of international learners

Léman is a school community committed to life-long learning. Our students benefit from our school’s cultural diversity, sharing their own heritage and learning from each other.

We bring our global reach into the classroom with programs such as Touchpoints, which address global issues with classmates from other Meritas schools around the world.

Outside of the class, students have numerous opportunities to participate in events in Chengdu, throughout China and in the United States, developing cultural knowledge while gaining real-world experience with new friends. The result is students who are internationally minded with an understanding and appreciation for all cultures.
