Brief Introduction of The Public Health Clinical Center of Chengdu

The Public Health Clinical Centre of Chengdu (Chengdu Infectious Diseases Hospital, Chengdu Tuberculosis Prevention and Cure Hospital and Chengdu No.10 People's Hospital) is the first Grade A Tertiary Hospital which is specialized in infectious diseases. Today the centre has been recognized as a designated medical institution for 39 notifiable and acute infectious diseases, not only celebrating our more than 70 years of professionalism and dedication, but providing care and treatment for the lives in our community.

As one of the largest clinic centre in Chengdu, it provides a comprehensive range of health services across two campuses - Jingjusi campus and Aerospace campus with the total coverage of 122 mu. The centre contains excellence for tertiary services in several key specialties including Infectious Diseases, Tuberculosis, Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Paediatrics, Stomatology as well as more than 60 secondary divisions. We have a proud history of leadership in translating research to improve clinical care, including one Prevention and Cure of Infectious Diseases Laboratory and one specialized project of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine together with two additional provincial and municipal disciplines. We also have laboratories of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis, PCR, AIDS Preliminary Screening and Confirmation in order to establish strong links with public health.

The centre has more than 1000 staffs, including one back-up personnel for discipline leader of the Health Department of Sichuan Province, three discipline leader and one back-up personnel of the Health Bureau of Chengdu.

The centre has a comprehensive infrastructure such as a emergency ward building for fulminating infectious diseases which is equipped with a fully enclosed negative pressure system and specialist wards for infectious diseases equipped with the central ventilation system; it also own 16 multislice spiral CT, AW work station, a complete set of CT image processing software and an imported PACS system; ultrasonography, electronic bronchoscopy, gastroscope, colonoscopy, BACTEC MGIT 960 mycobacterium tuberculosis detector, ABI 7500 real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR, Roche flow cytometry, full-automatic nucleic acid isolation machine and other facilities and equipments.

As a leader in clinical teaching and training, we also look to shape the healthcare and research leaders of the future in collaboration with our teaching and training partners. We have strong relationships with leading academic institutions across clinical specialities such as 302 Military Hospital of China, Beijing Ditan Hospital, Beijing YouAn Hospital, Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center, Beijing Chest Hospital, Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital, Shandong Chest Hospital and Guangzhou No.8 People’s Hospital, etc.
Our Aerospace campus is specialized in Liver Diseases, Infectious Diseases, STD, Infectious Miscellaneous Diseases, Gynaecology and Obstetrics and Pediatrics.

Jingjusi campus is specialized in Tuberculosis, General Medicine and Surgery, Dental and Eye-ear-nose-throat disciplines. In conformity with infection regulations, all units have been strictly isolated according to different types of disease.
