Chengdu received nearly 3.146 million tourists and accomplished a tourist revenue of about RMB3.6 billion during the 3-day New Year’s Day holiday.
According to the statistics from the Chengdu Municipal Tourism Administration, the city received nearly 3.146 million tourists during the 3-day New Year's Day holiday, a 15.5 percent increase over the same period of the previous year, and accomplished a tourist revenue of about RMB3.6 billion, 24.4 percent higher than that of a year earlier.
It shows that such traditional attractions as the Sansheng Village, which welcomed 224,300 tourists, Jinli, 129,700 tourists, Mt. Qingcheng-Dujiangyan Irrigation System Scenic Zone, 66,700 visitors, and Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, 39,400 visitors, are still the most popular sites during the holiday. And those cultural attractions, including the Wuhou Shrine Museum, Du Fu's Thatched Cottage Museum, Jianchuan Museum in Chengdu, and Jinsha Site Museum, witnessed a big rise in visitors in the three days.
