The 23rd World Route Development Forum took place in Barcelona, Spain September 24.
During the event, China's Lucky Air came into agreements with Helsinki-Vantaa Airport in Finland, Pulvoko Airport in St. Petersburg, Russia, and Changshui International Airport in Kunming, China, to launch three new air routes to Europe.
Lucky Air will operate a regular non-stop service between Chengdu and St. Petersburg using Airbus A330-300 aircraft this November, and open a Kunming-Chengdu-Helsinki route January 2018.
Lucky Air, a subsidiary of China's HNA Group, is the first low-cost airline founded in Yunnan, also an airline with its bases at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and future Tianfu International Airport. It currently has 45 airplanes in service, and operates 114 routes to 87 domestic and international destinations.
